Team Kaos/Nebraska Medical Center sent seven riders to the Iowa City Road Race and Old Capitol Criterium on Saturday and Sunday in Iowa City, Iowa. With fairly decent weather and challenging courses, both races were good early season tests for the team.
Both days were sunny, but Saturday's road race featured sustained winds well over 20 mph that sometimes slowed the pace to a crawl. Sunday dawned clear after a threat of rain, but the northwest winds picked up as the day wore on.

Team Kaos/Nebraska Medical Center kicked off the Nebraska road racing season with five wins at the Lifecycles Spring Classic over the weekend.
Chris Spence won the Masters division for both Saturday's road race and Sunday's circuit race. John Vondracek claimed Saturday's Cat. 3 title, while Justin Maresh took Cat. 4 and Brandon Fenster -- in his first road race -- won Cat. 5.

The racing season opened officially for Team Kaos/Nebraska Medical Center this weekend, both on the road and trails in Nebraska and Iowa.
Kaos riders were spread among three venues on Saturday and Sunday: the Des Moines area, Maskenthine Lake (near Norfolk, Neb.) and Papillion, Neb., for the final installment of the Nebraska Cycling Association's training criterium series.

43 riders took part in the third and final installment of the Nebraska Cycling Association's Spring Training series, held Sunday morning at Shadow Lake Towne Center in Papillion. All of the races featured lively action, with multiple attacks and counter-attacks, and strong sprint finishes.
Jordan Brasch, riding unattached, won the Men's masters and Cat. 1/2/3 races, while Kevin Limpach of Midwest Cycling Community soloed to a win in the Men's Cat. 4/5 race. Full results on next page.

Six Team Kaos/Nebraska Medical Center riders officially opened their seasons on Saturday at the Altoona Road Race north of Des Moines, Iowa. All six placed in the top 10 of their respective races amid a total field of 166 riders.
Chris Spence won the Masters 40+ race, ahead of teammate Dave Rogers in fourth. In the Men's Pro/1/2, Matt Landen was third, with Ian Gray just behind in fourth. Trek/HRRC riders Brian Stolte and Steve Tilford took the top two spots. John Vondracek and Matt Pavlovich took second and third in the Men's Cat. 3 race.
